The Champions Gate Resort area is one of the newer resort areas. It started back in the early 2000's with the opening of the Omni Resort. This elegant resort attracted not only Disney fans but golfers who came to play the resorts challenging courses.
The Champions Gate town center area resembled more of a residential downtown than one geared toward visitors. With a lack of tourist oriented attractions and shops in the immediate area coupled with an abundance of land, larger resorts such as Reunion and the Champions Gate Country Club built massive resorts with their own attractions level amenities for guests.

The Champions Gate area is an excellent choice if you enjoy Florida's West coast beaches and attractions as Tampa is less than an hour away
The Champions Gate Resort Area emanates from from the intersection of Champions Gate Blvd and Legends Blvd in the town center of Champions gate and runs just North of Encore at Reunion along Sinclair Road. It stretches West to the Polk County line at the Hwy 27, South to the intersection of Hwy 27 and I-4. It's Western edge is the Reedy Creek Swamp just past Hwy 17.
The Ronald Reagan Parkway and the Osceola-Polk line run East to West through the area and I-4 runs from the Northeast to the Southwest through the area. This is the Southernmost resort area for short term vacation homes in Orlando.

There are no real attractions in the Champions Gate Area however, you will find massive resorts with their own attractions such as golf, putt putt, mini water park size pool complexes and multiple sporting activities.
The Walt Disney World Resort is just a few miles North of the area via I-4. If you enjoy exploring outside the Orlando area, Tampa Bay is about an hour away with Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach just a little further West.
